Austin's Building Science Mold Inspections • We Find the Source, Not Just the Mold
THE MISSING LINK BETWEEN HEALTH AND HOME
You investigate the root cause in the body. We investigate the root cause in the home.
When your patients are concerned about mold exposure, finding mold is only part of the answer. We investigate the moisture sources and building deficiencies behind it so they can address the underlying problem.

Sometimes the home is a piece of the puzzle worth investigating. If a patient describes any of these patterns, consider recommending an independent mold and moisture assessment.
Symptoms linked to a room
Headaches, congestion, or irritation that seem to occur in one room or area of the home.
Better away from home
Symptoms improve when a patient is away, then return after coming home.
Musty or earthy odors
A persistent musty smell, even when no visible mold is present.
Past leaks or water damage
Flooding, roof or plumbing leaks, condensation, or previous moisture problems.
Dampness or high humidity
Recurring condensation, water stains, or areas that never seem to dry properly.
Similar concerns across the household
Several family members report recurring respiratory or allergy-like symptoms.
Visible signs of moisture damage
Peeling or bubbling paint, swollen or separating baseboards, staining, or dark marks around HVAC vents can signal moisture problems worth investigating. These signs do not confirm mold.
Mold that keeps returning
Visible mold or recurring staining returns after cleaning or repairs, suggesting an underlying moisture issue may remain.
House of Thyme investigates the home, identifies moisture sources, and provides clear findings and next steps.
From Investigation to Verification
These are three available stages of service that may be needed depending on the findings in the investigation.
01 Investigate the source
Find mold, trace moisture sources, and identify building deficiencies.
We want to find the mold but also understand why the mold grew and what we need to do to resolve the moisture issue.
02 Plan for remediation
Develop a detailed protocol for the remediation company addressing containment, caring for personal contents, and measures to reduce cross-contamination.
We want to make sure remediation is done properly and safely.
03 Verify the results
Return after remediation to assess the work and conduct appropriate clearance testing.
We want to make sure that the source of mold has been properly eliminated and the protocol was properly followed.
We don't perform remediation.
Our role is to investigate, document findings and provide objective recommendations.
We are independent from all remediation companies.
